Bonavista Creative is also proud to announce two new businesses coming to Church Street in 2016.
THE BOREAL DINER
The northern landscape of the boreal forest is inspiration for Sylvie and Jon’s cooking. Sylvie grew up moose-hunting and gardening in the Yukon, and learned resourceful and creative home cooking from her mother. Jon has fond memories of his childhood in central Newfoundland, picking berries, and catching and cooking fresh seafood.
The Boreal Diner will serve family – style food, proudly featuring local produce, seafood, Newfoundland-raised meat, and wild plants and berries. The food on the menu will be made from scratch using traditional methods for things like sausage, smoked fish, sour dough bread, as well as being inspired by food from around the world.
The Diner will also be true to its name and have a full menu of single origins coffees, espresso, cappuccinos, and lattes.
The Boreal Diner will be located in the historic George Templeman House at 61 Church Street.
AUNT SARAH’S CHOCOLATE SHOP
Aunt Sarah’s Chocolate Shop is a home-style chocolate and sweet shop offering may different chocolates, truffles, caramels and other treats. We use only the highest quality ingredients in our products and are continually coming up with new recipes and treats. We are excited to be expanding to Bonavista in 2016 and look forward to bringing our chocolates, as well as introducing our homemade ice cream, to the town as part of the Bonavista Creative initiative.
